Description

The Classic American Cheeseburger is a juicy beef patty grilled to perfection, topped with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and your favorite condiments, all tucked inside a toasted bun. It’s the ultimate comfort food.

Equipment

  • Grill or stovetop skillet
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Plate and foil (for resting burgers)

Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Black pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 1 Tomato (sliced)
  • 1 Red onion (sliced)
  • to taste Ketchup, mustard, mayo
  • Pickles, bacon, avocado

Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side (medium), adding cheese on top during the last minute to melt.
  3. Lightly toast burger buns on the grill or in a pan until golden.
  4. Place lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun. Top with the cheeseburger patty. Add condiments and top bun.
  5. Serve hot with fries, coleslaw, or chips.
